Joseph and St. Joseph Marello Prayer to St. Joseph O glorious St. Joseph, I sincerely venerate you as the chaste spouse of the Mother of God, as the head of the Holy Family, as the Foster Father of Jesus Christ, as the faithful preserver of the treasures of the Blessed Trinity. In you I venerate the choice of God the Father, who desired to share with you his power over his eternal only begotten Son. In you I venerate the choice of God the Son, who wished to be dependent on you and to owe his subsistance to the labor of your hands. In you I venerate the choice of God the Holy Spirit, who wished to entrust to you his faithful spouse, and to give you to her as her guardian and companion through life. In you I venerate the choice of the Vicar of Christ, who declared you as Patron, Protector, and Defender of the Church, founded by our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Saint Joseph Marello's Prayer to Saint Joseph O glorious St. Joseph, you had the privelege of living in the company of Jesus and Mary. Help us to learn their beautiful virtues which you so perfectly imitated. Next to the Blessed Virgin Mary, you were the first to bear in your arms the Divine Redeemer, be our exemplar in daily life, show us the way, guide our every step, be our teacher and our helper and lead us safely to the port of salvation. Amen Memorare to St. Joseph Remember, O most pure spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, my great protector, Saint Joseph, that no one ever had recourse to your protection, or implored your aid without obtaining relief. Confiding therefore in your goodness, I come before you. Do not turn down my petitions, foster father of the Redeemer, but graciously receive them. Amen. With complete trust in Divine Providence, you founded the Oblates of St. Joseph to serve the interests of Jesus in imitation of his guardian and protector. Father of youth, protector of the poor and aged, gentle sheperd of your flock, model of charity, you blended strength with kindness, prayer with action, faithfulness to the Church with zealous attention to the signs of the times. May your holy life inspire youth to take the Gospel as their sure guide; your Oblates to be hidden and faithful instruments of God's work; priests and bishops to be loyal and loving shepherds. Pray with us that we may all live with that peacefulness of mind and heart that comes only from a trusting surrender to God's will. Amen |
